Prof Stewart Trost

Stewart Trost is a Professor of Physical Activity and Health in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at Queensland University of Technology, Australia. Trost’s research interests include measurement of physical activity and sedentary behaviour, psychosocial and environmental correlates of physical activity behaviour, and community-based interventions to promote physical activity and prevent obesity in children and youth. Professor Trost has been conducting health research with children and adolescents for more than 20 years. He has published a career total of 218 research articles in top quartile peer-reviewed journals. Trost is also a CI in the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in the Early Prevention of Obesity in Childhood. He heads the research stream leading work on the measurement of 24-hour movement behaviours in children 0-5 years. 

He has also served as a consultant on matters related to measurement of physical activity to many domestic and international research groups and public health organizations including the Australian Federal Government, the U.S. National Institutes of Health, US Centers for Disease Control, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. 

Prof Trost will be presenting in the Advances in physical activity monitoring for Public Health Symposium on Wednesday 21st July 2021, 1:30pm - 3:30pm.
