Ruth Meaney

Ruth Meaney is a Senior Physiotherapist working as part of the Family Metabolic Health Service at Nepean Hospital. In this role she provides trauma informed obesity specific care within both the general adult service and the maternity service (Opal Clinic). Within the Opal Clinic, Ruth is co-authoring a new model of care for pregnant women with a history of bariatric surgery and/or obesity. 

When not working at the FMHS, she has also been working at Lithgow Hospital for over 13 years as a rural generalist physiotherapist. This is following a number of positions focusing in women’s health both in Australia and the UK. 

Ruth loves working as part of a team to provide excellent, compassionate care to her clients.
