Dr Leon Laks
Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians since 1990. Completed his PhD dissertation “Pulmonary hypertension in obstructive sleep apnea” in 1994. In January 1995 joined the staff of the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine in Concord hospital. Served as Medical Director of the service till 2023 and continues clinical and research work within the Department. For the last 10 years a member of Metabolic Rehabilitation Obesity Hypoventilation Clinic in Concord Hospital. His special interests are in management of sleep related breathing disorders including obesity hypoventilation syndrome and chronic respiratory failure as well as non-respiratory sleep disorders especially disorders of hypersomnolence, parasomnias and insomnia. Several publications in peer reviewed medical journals.
