Dr James Nobles
James is a Senior Research Fellow in Public Health at Leeds Beckett University, where he focuses on the pragmatic design, implementation and evaluation of population health orientated systems approaches. He was a core member of the team which developed the Public Health England Whole Systems Approach to Obesity guidance, now being implemented by over 80 local public health teams in the UK. He also led on the large scale evaluation of We Can Move; a whole systems approach to reducing physical inactivity in Gloucestershire. In 2021, he co-founded the international Systems Evaluation Network which brings together over 750 people from research, policy, practice, and industry to advance the evaluation of systems approaches in public health.
