Prof Berit Heitmann
Professor Berit L Heitmann, Director for Research at the Parker Institute, Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospita,l has been professor in Nutrition Epidemiology since 2001 in Denmark, and is also visiting professor at The Charles Perkins Centre at Sydney University. She has published 425+ peer reviewed scientific publications and has a H-index of 65. Recent and current activities include:
1) Co-PI on the the current large 24 mio € LightCOM project on novel ways to sustained weight loss (https://easo.org/learn-about-lightcom-the-lighthouse-consortium-on-obesity-management/).
2) PI on the recent 5 mio € EU-Horizon2020 project NoHoW (www.nohow.eu), an Intereuropean RCT to help individuals keep successful weight loss over long term.
3) PI on the D-tect study that examined importance of measured vitamin D in early life for later disease development on 1 mio people (www.d-tectingdisease.dk)
4) PI on the ongoing PROBE intervention study, that treats pregnant women, who do not currently see a dentist, for periodontitis to improve pregnancy and birth outcomes (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38739615/).
